At Barnacre Alpacas, animal welfare is our top priority.  All our animals are known by name and treated as individuals with their different personality traits known to us.  We will treat your alpacas in the same careful way we do our own.  However, alpacas use our Stud Services at their owners risk so fully insuring each animal is advised.  All females presented for mating should ideally be recently sheared, over twelve months old, in good health and with us notified of any conditions or medicines being taken.  

Barnacre Alpacas guarantee a live cria on the ground (for 14 days) or a free return mating.  This guarantee applies to the original purchaser of the Stud Service and is not transferable to another alpaca or owner.

‘On farm mating’ includes ten weeks livery (agistment) and an ultrasound scan to confirm pregnancy.  Please let us know of any special husbandry requirements and ensure we have contact details for you in case of need.  In the event of veterinary attention, the owner, who we will try and contact immediately, will meet all costs.  Half of the fee is payable when your alpacas arrive with the balance due before or on the day your alpacas leave our premises.

‘Mobile mating’ is where we bring our animals to your premises at a mutually agreed time.  The fee and travel supplement is due in full on the day of the mating.

‘Drive by mating’ is where you bring your animals to our premises at a mutually agreed time.  Full payment is due before your alpacas leave our premises on the day of the mating.

Due to heightened biosecurity concerns, all matings are subject to the mutual agreement of the client and Barnacre Alpacas. In particular we will not expose our animals to the risk of direct or indirect contact to any animal from a one or two year TB testing zone. We hope you appreciate and understand our caution.
